Assistant Site Manager Job at Brighton, Sussex Full Time NEW

Assistant Site Manager required to join a reputable main contractor delivering the refurbishment and redevelopment of a major seafront scheme in Brighton. The project consists of demolition, reconstruction, refurbishment, and infrastructure works to transform existing arches into new restaurant, caf , retail, pub, and office units.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join a technically challenging project and work alongside an experienced site team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of site operations.
• Assist with the coordination of subcontractors across demolition, structural, refurbishment, and infrastructure packages.
• Monitor site progress and ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme and quality standards.
• Carry out site inspections and ensure health & safety standards are maintained at all times.
• Assist with QA procedures, snagging, and recording site progress using project management software.
• Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Attend daily briefings and weekly progress meetings with the wider project team.
• Support logistics management and site coordination on a busy live construction environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working for a main contractor as an Assistant Site Manager or Site Supervisor.
• Experience on refurbishment, commercial, structural, or fit out projects is advantageous.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Good understanding of health & safety procedures and site compliance.
• CSCS is essential, with SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid advantageous.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to progress within site management.
