About the role
We are looking for a research assistant to work in our laboratory in Oxford (Old Road Campus Research Building).
The role involves culturing cell-lines and organoids; selecting, following and adapting molecular biology protocols including library prep for sequencing (Illumina, ONT) and protein extraction for proteomics. In addition, performing SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, qRT-PCR, flow cytometry and confocal microscopy.
You will be working as part of our multidisciplinary/multi-group team. The project is co-led by Professor Ian Mills (Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences (NDS)) and Associate Professor Harri Itkonen (University of Oslo and University of Helsinki) and you will be working closely with Dr. Agata Carreira (University of Oxford) in the laboratory.
About you
You will hold a Master’s degree in biomedical sciences, together with some laboratory experience. You will be experienced in cellular and molecular biology techniques with a focus on protein biochemistry and transcription. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate results clearly in presentations and project reports.
This full-time position is available immediately and fixed-term until May 2027.
