About The Role
DATAMIND TRE is a national Trusted Research Environment (TRE) supporting secure, privacy-preserving access to sensitive data for research and innovation across healthcare, academia, and industry. Based within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences at Swansea University, the programme enables high-quality, data-driven research that delivers real-world impact for mental health and population health outcomes.
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Data Manager to support the operational delivery, governance, and ongoing development of the DATAMIND TRE platform. Working closely with researchers, analysts, technical specialists, and governance stakeholders, you will support secure data ingestion, curation, metadata management, disclosure control, user access management, and data quality assurance activities across the TRE.
The successful candidate will help ensure datasets are secure, accurate, accessible, and compliant with legal, ethical, and governance requirements, contributing to processes aligned with GDPR, NHS data standards, and recognised secure research environment principles.
This post is currently funded for an initial fixed term period of two years, with the potential for extension subject to project funding and programme requirements through to March 2030.

Welsh Language Skills
The Welsh language level required for this role is Level 1 – A little. The role holder will be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone in Welsh (good morning/afternoon) and use very basic everyday words and phrases (thank you, please etc.). Level 1 can be reached by completing a 1 hour course.
